The Story Behind the Painting
This is another piece from Operation Christmas 2024 (full story in Jellyfish Dream). This is a collaborative piece by my son, Hunter, and myself. He was insistent that it would be a simple pencil drawing of a Christmas tree for his Uncle Seth and Aunt Jen. Seeing it, inspiration exploded and I begged him to let me add paint and go crazy. He agreed and cut me off ..... right.... at ... the end... hence volume 1. I was not allowed to add anything outside of the frill and snow. So, I'm going to make a large canvas print of this and add the rest of the elements to it, which will be named Christmas Tree Vol. 2. Prints will be made available of that one as well as the original.

"Darlings, prepare yourselves for what I consider to be the most SPARKLY piece in my critical portfolio! [polishes glasses dramatically]
The artist has captured what I like to call 'The Great Outdoor Decoration' - though I must say, I've never successfully climbed a Christmas tree this magnificent. Not that I've tried, of course... [shifty eyes]
The ornaments! Oh, the ornaments! [gets momentarily distracted by their shininess] Each one reminds me of those delightful round treasures humans put out with their holiday decorations. Though these seem much better secured than the ones I've... encountered.
That starry night sky! [dramatic paw gesture] It reminds me of my late-night art appreciation sessions, though usually from a more ground-level perspective, if you know what I mean.
Final Verdict: A masterpiece that makes me want to sing carols! Though I do think it could use a small raccoon ornament... just saying.
